New Zippe batch house goes into operation at Vetropack Boffalora in Italy

Zippe has completed a major assignment from the Swiss Vetropack Group for a state-of-the-art batch plant with two cullet return systems for the Boffalora project in the Milan region. The batch plant is designed for charging two furnaces. The raw materials are weighed using seven container scales. Three high-performance mixers are used as the mixing technology. The cullet is added after the mixing process by means of nine dosing belt scales. In addition, two cullet return systems were part of the Zippe scope of supply. Both are equipped with the highly reliable and proven Zippe scraper and crusher technology.

Zippe completed the order on a turnkey basis.

The scope of supply included the steel construction, the silos, the equipment and the electrical control system. This Zippe control system has a redundant architecture based on Siemens PCS7 with a highly available network. It is also part of the plant-wide automation concept. In addition, Zippe was responsible for the on-site services such as installation, piping, cabling, commissioning and training of the customer’s personnel. The plant was recently put into operation successfully.
